Atherton Leisure Centre is located on Romford Road and it houses two pools, a general one and a learner/teaching/training one. The main one is 25 meters long, with a width of 12.5 meters, movable floor which adjusts from 0.9m (min.) to 2.0m and a swimmable area of 312 square meters. The learner/training pool is 20 meters long, 10 meters wide, with a swimmable area of 200 square meters and movable floor. The venue offers the following facilities: Café, Changing Facilities, Accessible Parking, Accessible Entrance, Accessible Changing, Accessible Toilets and Swimming Lessons. The main pool has six lanes. Atherton Leisure Centre is ideal for those who want to have fun while swimming, as the venue organizes aqua aerobics and other types of sessions aimed at families. Atherton Leisure Centre also offers access to two fitness studios with qualified instructors who offer 19 classes a week, ranging from high intensity training to LBT (legs, bums, tums) and total body. There are also group cycling sessions. The pools are also available for private hire for either parties or sports activities. As for their swimming lessons, they follow the National Plan for Teaching Swimming Stages 1-10, so if you are looking for a place where your child will learn from the best, then Atherton Leisure Centre is for you!
