Glass Mill Leisure Centre is located on 41 Loampit Vale and is home to two swimming pools that are designed to fit everyone’s needs. The main pool is 25 meters long, 17 meters wide, has a deep end of 2 meters and a shallow end of 1.5 meters. The total swimmable area is 425 m2, the floor is moveable and it is also equipped with a poolpod that facilitates entering and exiting the pool. The second pool is for learners and it is 20 meters long, 8 meters wide, has a deep end of 1.8 meters and a shallow end of 0.25 meters. The total area is 160 m2 and the floor is movable. Glass Mill Leisure Centre, a joint venture with Lewisham Council, is situated in the city's centre. The former Glass Mill, a colourful landmark offering a variety of activities to keep the community fit and active, is only a short stroll from Lewisham train and DLR stations. A dedicated free weight area, cardio and resistance stations, and two fitness studios with a variety of fitness courses, from Pilates to Group Cycle, are all part of the 72-station gym. The centre offers a variety of accessible and baby-friendly amenities, a 25-meter, eight-lane main pool, an 18-meter learner pool (with movable floor), a café, and a conference space to guarantee that everyone can stay active and fit. Other amenities are: changing facilities, accessible parking, accessible entrance, accessible changing, accessible toilets, swimming lessons, pre-school swimming lessons, advanced swimming lessons and under 5s fun swims.
