In honor of St. John Fisher, the organization was given the name Fisher Club. The Fisher Society, which is the Catholic Society at Cambridge University, provided financial assistance for it. An ancient machine shop in Rose Court served as the first home of the club, which at that time was run solely by unpaid volunteers. The Downside Fisher Youth Club is a place that is 100% dedicated to making young people explore their potential and passions, as well as improve their health and stamina.
