Vinyasa yoga takes lots of the elements from the Hatha yoga, but increases the pace of the flow. Vinyasa yoga classes are known for their fluid movement and connection of poses. Vinyasa yoga seamlessly links from one pose to the next, whilst incorporating breathing and usually music. The idea of connecting your breath with each move is to give you the feeling that your breath is moving your body.
Vinyasa yoga classes are designed by the instructor and therefore even though they may contain similar moves, all the classes should be different. Although Vinyasa yoga use similar moves to the slower paced Hatha yoga, Vinaysa is much more physically demanding, due to its fluid nature. There are huge benefits to Vinyasa yoga, such as improved endurance, due to the continuous movement. Improved strength, balance and stability as you hold poses and progress to more complex movements when you become more experienced. Alongside the physical benefits, Vinyasa yoga offers a meditative element to the class, which can help lower stress, lower anxiety and take your mind away from the world for an hour at a time.
We find that once people experience a Vinyasa yoga class, they almost always come back.
